Trusted-contact SMS consent

Veysentra sends personal-safety messages only to trusted contacts who affirmatively agree to receive them.

How consent and re-subscription work

  1. Initial consent: A signed-in Veysentra user chooses someone they know as a trusted contact in the mobile app.
  2. Veysentra creates a private, single-use invitation link. Apple Messages opens with the invitation below for the app user to review and send.
  3. The trusted contact opens the link, reviews the disclosures, enters the mobile number that received the invitation, checks an unchecked consent box, and selects Accept and agree to SMS. They may instead select Decline.
  4. The Veysentra backend records the decision, consent-policy version, and timestamp. Automatic safety SMS remains disabled unless acceptance is recorded.
  5. Re-subscription after an opt-out: A contact who previously replied STOP may text START, UNSTOP, or YES to (516) 440-5630. Twilio then confirms the re-subscription and sends no further messages unless that contact has re-subscribed.

Public reviewer evidence

Complete consent experience

This public reviewer demo reproduces the complete call to action presented before consent. It requires no account, login, or private token. A production invitation uses the same disclosures and controls with a private, expiring token tied to the invited phone number.

1. Invitation prepared in the app

Veysentra trusted-contact invitation

Someone you know invited you to receive recurring personal-safety alerts, including SOS alerts, missed safety check-ins, and location links. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Review and choose Accept or Decline: [private invitation link]. Consent is not a condition of purchase. After accepting, reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. 2. Trusted contact makes an active choice

3. Consent is enforced

The server verifies that the entered phone number matches the number tied to the private invitation before recording acceptance. Veysentra checks the stored consent status for every recipient before each automatic alert. A pending, declined, expired, or missing record blocks automatic SMS. A trusted contact can later reply STOP to revoke consent.

4. Keyword re-subscription after an opt-out

Veysentra SMS re-subscription

A recipient who has previously opted out may text START, UNSTOP, or YES to (516) 440-5630 to re-subscribe to Veysentra personal-safety messages. Twilio replies: “Veysentra: You have successfully been re-subscribed to recurring personal-safety messages. Message frequency varies. Reply HELP for help. Reply STOP to unsubscribe. Msg & data rates may apply.” This keyword path is only for re-subscribing after an opt-out; initial consent uses the private invitation flow above.

Messages a trusted contact may receive

Messages are transactional personal-safety alerts triggered by an SOS activation, voice-triggered alert, expired safety check-in, or related safety event. A message may include the Veysentra user’s current or last available location link. Veysentra does not use this program for marketing or promotional messages.

Frequency and charges

Message frequency varies according to safety events and tests initiated by the Veysentra user. Message and data rates may apply. Consent is not a condition of purchasing goods or services.

Opt out and help

Reply STOP to stop Veysentra SMS messages. Twilio confirms: “Veysentra: You have successfully been unsubscribed. You will receive no further messages. Reply START to re-subscribe.” Reply HELP for help; Twilio replies with Veysentra support information. A trusted contact may also ask the Veysentra user to remove them or contact veysentrasupport@gmail.com. An opt-out will be honored for future automatic messages to that number, subject to processing time and applicable law. After opting out, a contact may re-subscribe by texting START, UNSTOP, or YES to (516) 440-5630.
